A Quarter of a Century of Success in South and Central America

In 2000, Herkules received an order from Brazil's largest steel producer, ArcelorMittal Tubarão (AMT), to supply three roll grinding machines. This order has laid the foundation for a 25-year success story, which continues in more than 20 Central and South American countries to this day.

With the delivery of the precise and robust Herkules machines, AMT and its roll shop reached a state-of-the-art level in Latin America. The cooperation as well as the state-of-the-art equipment and the continuous and professional quality controls by Herkules and AMT ensured the success of the project. At the same time, Herkules also founded its Herkules Latin America (HLA) site in Vitória, which is logistically located in close proximity to AMT and has strengthened the partnership between the two companies. Based on this mutual trust, a fourth roll grinding machine in the Monolith™ design was ordered in 2008 – the first of its kind in Brazil. After numerous successful service assignments, AMT and Herkules signed a further service contract, which was renewed again for another three years until 2028. In the same year, AMT awarded Herkules with a diploma recognizing the quality and safety of the services. Regular updates. Meticulous maintenance. Professional management. The result: a machine that has been working non-stop for almost two decades.

Right from the start, the establishment of the representation was a great success and Herkules was able to increase the Brazilian market share of CNC roll grinding machines for flat rolling mills from 0% up to 60-70% today. The decisive factor for this development – in addition to the enormous quality and robustness of the Herkules machines – is the availability of fast and qualified service in Brazil. The highly professional HLA team has been working locally for over 20 years and is very familiar with the demands and requirements of our customers. This success is also reflected in numerous repeat orders.

In 2025, HLA is now celebrating a quarter of a century of success, making it an important part of the HerkulesGroup's global presence and activities.
